WHY DELRAY?

Delray Beach is a quintessential beach town, ideal for a mini vacation. It’s out of the fray of Miami and Fort Lauderdale but a little more laid-back than Palm Beach.

We love the ocean, local businesses and unique neighborhoods and this is a great place for all of that. We're hoping our guests take a page out of our book and explore by foot or by bicycle and find a new favorite restaurant, neighborhood, bar or beach spot!

Scroll down past bars and restaurants for activities.

RESTAURANTS
& BARS

There are a ton of fun restaurants in Delray. This is just a short list of places that we have been to and enjoyed to get you started.

El Camino – $ (lunch, dinner) Austin’s favorite happy hour in South Florida. This is the spot for tacos and margaritas. They change their margaritas often but and they’re all good but some of our favorites are: 50/50, spicy avocado, guava habanero, kiwi.

City Oyster - $$ (lunch, dinner) Sister restaurant to one of our staple favorites near our house but this location has more seafood.

La Nouvelle Maison - $$$ (dinner) Great french restaurant. This one isn't in Delray, it's in Boca Raton but the food is excellent and this is where we went the night of our engagement

Joseph’s Wine Bar & Cafe - $$ (dinner) Local favorite Italian

The Grove - $$$ Intimate fine dining, ask them about chef’s tasting menus

Brule Bistro – $$ (brunch, lunch, dinner) Local favorite. No reservations.

Dada – $$ (brunch, lunch, dinner) Local favorite in an eclectic old house, people go for the atmosphere.

Two Fat BrEGGfast – $ (breakfast) Pick up only. Part of "Two Fat Cookies" Bakery.

Bagels With – $ (breakfast, lunch) Deli and bagel shop. Not downtown but if you need a bagel this is the spot. Asiah’s order: scooped out bagel with NY Nova spread (cream cheese with fresh green chives, fresh smoke salmon and capers all mixed in)

Planet Juice - $ (breakfast, lunch) Austin and Asiah’s favorite smoothie shop outside of their house. Nothing fancy just good (real) smoothies, juice and basic healthy wraps. Recommend: blueberry bomb smoothie with almond milk. Pick up is best but they do have a few tables.

Sandwiches by the Sea - $ (lunch) Nothing out of the ordinary, just a local favorite sandwich shop close to the beach.

ACTIVITIES

Some ideas to get you started. As always, definitely recommend exploring IG for some inspiration. Downtown Delray account is a good place to start.

Hit the Beach

Your hotel may have a chair service but if they don't you can rent chairs, umbrellas and cabanas from Oceanside Beach Service

Cornell Art Museum

Downtown, small art museum in a historic building.

If you’re looking for an indoor activity directly in downtown this place has vintage pinball machines, video games, skee ball, table top shuffle board, etc. that you can play. Serves alcohol and basic bar food.  (aka the pinball museum)

Golf

There are several golf courses in the area. October is HOT down here so we definitely recommend booking early to secure a morning tee time. A few are listed below but there are plenty more options.

  • Alan C. Alford Red Reef - City of Boca Raton course on the water, 9 holes

  • Seagate Golf Course - wonderfully maintained and not far from downtown. If you are not a member, you do need to stay at the Seagate Hotel to use the course.

Putt putt golf! Not directly downtown but not too far.

Shopping

There are a handful of boutiques and shops along Atlantic Avenue. If you forgot something and need to do some "real" shopping, Town Center at Boca Raton is the best traditional shopping mall in the area.

For every day conveniences like grocery stores, Target, etc. Linton Blvd (east of 95) is where you will find all of that.

Bar and restaurant with all sorts of games: darts, board games, cornhole, ping pong, axe throwing and more.
